Ramona Surdo

Ramona Surdo is a heavy set, matronly porcine woman, though she appears to have recently lost quite a lot of weight. She is weak, bleary eyed, and pale, and has many scabbed over lesions all over her body, as she has only recently recovered from Black Rot. She lies in a straw bed in the Church of the Blessed Union, slowly sipping at honeyed tea and drinking broth to regain her strength.

I was the first person outside the Kosmin Baciu’s family to fall ill - or so they say. I never had any contact with any of them you see. I had been working on the Mitriu Estate for the entire month of the Trowel. Sometime around the 7th or 8th, Captain Bucur, their guard captain, fell ill. He was feverish and coughing and had some sores, so I took some yarrow and crushed it up and applied it to his sores. A few days later, I fell ill… and then… oh my… (she starts crying).
