Antechamber
In the final antechamber before entering the Grand Chamber of the Radulesc Tomb, the murals on the walls are largely intact - they depict full body, life-sized portraits of the members here entombed. Each one is wearing full formal regalia - impressive suits, gowns, robes or armour.
-
The canis family depicted here consists of six members;
- A father and a mother in their noble finery.
- A elder son in armour, presumably a knight of some kind.
- Another son and a daughter, also in armour, though of lesser stature - perhaps serving as squires
- A youngest son, this one in the robes of a priest of the Church of the Blessed Union of the era.
While the bodies of the individuals and their attire are fully painted and complete, the faces and heads are blank plaster. Additionally, where the face of the youngest son, the priest, is supposed to be, a sigil and the words Denuntatiu E Blespematiu have been scrawled where the face would be. This sigil and inscription do not match the style of the murals in any way.
CHALLENGE
21C using Artist, Ritual or TheologyThose with the Artist, Ritual or Theology skill have a chance to determine that the paintings of the deceased would normally be completed as part of the burial ritual, capturing the likenesses of the entombed at the time of their death. It seems this step was skipped in this case.
