The Fhialane Commoners
The Fhialane Grasslands in western Waeyron are separated into over a dozen large commons controlled by the major and minor city states of western Waeyron. The commons here are prized grazing lands for the sheep and cattle of the region, and prized hunting grounds for large game animals. Consequently, their precise boundaries have often been disputed, leading to disgreements large and small. One such disagreement between House Hopkins and House Maddox, ultimately boiled over into a battle outside the village of Codwain, about 150km north of Shear, in 1182. House Hopkins raised a private militia to evict tenants working for House Maddox from what House Hopkins claimed was their part of a larger commons. House Maddox raised another militia to support their claim. In the end, the tenants were butchered, the battle spilled over into the village of Codwain, which was largely destroyed, and the leadership of the militias, realzing they would probably be hung, fled in the chaos, leading to their unpaid armies continuing to pillage until they got bored, fled or were eventually scattered, capture and killed. Investigations from relatives of both Houses in Shear would soon reveal that the commons being fought over belonged to neither House Hopkins nor House Maddox, and that everyone had been referring to outdated maps. The true custodians of the commons in question were a much smaller house from Shear, House Bough. House Bough sued both House Hopkins and House Maddox and won, effectively leading to the bankruptcy and disentitlement of both Houses. As a response to the tragedy and the damage caused, the many different families, City States and factions that held rights to sections of the Fhialane Commons decreed that they would form an independent organization to accurately map, monitor, patrol and protect those lands. Thus were the Fhialane Commoners formed as a ranger order in 1185 with an independent mandate to preserve the Fhialane Commons and protect the usage rights of all its various owners.
The Frost Wardens
Believed to be one of the oldest organizations in Obersch, most claim the continent could never have been successfully developed without the Frost Wardens patrolling the wilds and protecting the roads and waterways that provide vital lifelines to the remote cities, towns, villages and outposts of central and northern Obersch. The Frost Wardens are principally concerned with controlling populations of dangerous wildlife and monsters in the frozen wastelands of the continent. The Order is Headquartered in Wachles, though aside from a few transient wounded and a small number of staff officers very few of their members are ever seen there, or in any city or town. The deeds of the Frost Wardens are tangled in legend; legends of individual rangers hunting Yeti, packs of Vargr, or angry Galzoma who were threatening small villages, or stories of groups of rangers banding together to stand against armies of Frost Giants organizing to march on the great cities of Obersch. Frost Wardens are said to be as cold as the snowy wastelands they patrol, beholden to no city or state, answering to none but their brethren, and seeking no reward or recognition for their dangerous duty.
The Grey Goats
The Grey Goats are an reclusive order of scouts, trappers and wardens who protect the southern Iron Ridge Mountains and the Shining Mountains in central Golanicja. Their origins are a mystery, but most beleive they were founded by deserters during the Imperial Era who did not support the foreign wars of the Golanicjan Kings.
The Grey Goats are a loosely organized Order, seemingly without a headquarters, and their members apparently choose to live in the treacherous and snowy high mountain wilderness between Old Quarry in the south and Midgate in the north. They gather quarterly, converging by the hundreds on a random city or village each time, arriving seemingly out of nowhere. During these conventions, they share information, make plans for the next season, resupply and seemingly disappear into the wilderness again a few days later.
The Grey Goats maintain a network of outposts, watch towers, and shelters, and patrol the few mountain passes in their area, protecting travellers and trade from bandits, dangerous creatures, and - more often - the elements. The Grey Goats are very well respected and have good relations with almost every city and down in their region and are considered indispensible to the security of Golanicja. While Grey Goats rarely frequent cities or towns, they never have to pay for a drink or a warm meal. This is not by law, or even by tradition - it's more just a function of the fact that anywhere they go they are likely to run into someone who owes a Grey Goat a favour - if not their life.

The Peregrines
The Peregrines are an order of scouts and rangers operating principally on the main island of Senecia, but also to a lesser extent on many of the islands in the Senecian Archipelago and even some parts of southwestern Tulosz. The Peregrines are typically contracted by cities to patrol the roads and open wilderness in their domains, protecting travellers, policing the wild, and hunting animals, creatures or monsters that have become a threat. In a few cases, the Peregrines provide civil protection services to smaller towns or villages.
