LISBET BACIU

Poor Kosmin - he was our eldest grandchild. He was the very first in the village to fall ill with this terrible plague. At first it seemed just like an ordinary flu, but soon came the fever and the sores and the convulsions. Now his entire family is sick… and so many others around town. Oh, I do hope you’ll be able to do something to help them…. Kosmin passed on the 19th, followed soon by two of his children… our great-grandchildren. I am painting their portraits now - I do hope I don’t have to paint more… I’m really not very good with portraits (she cries).

TOPIC: Radulesc

If the players inquire about the Radulesc family name or about the Radulesc name on the lable of the Radulesc Pomegranate Wine she commonly serves.

LISBET BACIU

Radulesc? You know, I’m not sure where the name comes from - I think maybe there is a family around here with that name, but I don’t know them? You should ask the Stoias why they chose that name… they own the orchards up at the North end of the village, past the mill.

TOPIC: unsual visitors

If the players ask about suspiscious vistors, or about the anyone unusal passing through

LISBET BACIU

Indeed, before all this tragedy we had some rugged looking guests come through from out of town. Four of them; a canis, an avian, a halfling, and an orc - don’t see many orcs around here. They rented two rooms on 29 Bucket, and then rode out the very next day. None of that was unusual. But then on 33 Bucket, the canis returned on his own. He was irritable and acting strangely - being sharp with folk - I didn’t like him.

Then, on 36 Bucket, he came down from his room for dinner, but he didn’t look well. He went to bed without finishing his meal, and no one saw him again.

On 37 Bucket, he failed to pay for his room or to check out. We asked after him at the stables to see if he had cut and run, but his horse was still stabled there, so we decided to leave the room for an extra day. On 38 Bucket, he still did not return, so we had Kosmin clear out his room. Seems like he left in a real hurry, leaving all of his things behind. We’ve since spoken to the council about it, and if he doesn’t return with his due payment by the 37 of this month, we can sell his things to pay his bills here and at the stables.
