Embalming Chamber

This embalming chamber seems to have been intended to serve as the room in which the family members would be embalmed before being interred in their sarcophagi. The room seems to have never been used.

There is an embalming table, numerous prayer books, and books describing the process of the embalming ritual, a full set of embalming tools, and six small chests, each containing a set of ‘eternal organs’. Eternal organs are ritualistic replacement organs meant to replace those removed from the corpse during the embalming process (which appears to have been skipped). These are stone hearts, brains, livers, kidneys, stomachs, lungs, and either ovaries and a uterus or testes. Each organ has prayers carved across its entire surface, inlaid with gold, and decorated with small gemstones.
