Petronela Bunk House

 

The bunkhouse owned and operated by the ursan Petronela Doreanu and her family is a large three storey wooden structure that is home to some sixty or seventy people (and sometimes going to 100 people during harvest season). The building is in disrepair, and is undoubtedly one of the most poorly maintained structures in town. It is not scary looking, as Petronela and her husband try to stay on top of things, but managing inexpensive temporary housing for mostly itinerant workers is not the most profitable business. The building takes a lot of wear and tear, and is a lot of work to maintain.

The bunkhouse contains a small apartment for Petronela and her family, as well as six small shared 4 tenant apartments for longer-term residents who have a bit more money. There are also four large halls that each sleep twelve, and a flophouse hall that can accomodate as many as 30 more on the floor.

It is extremely fortunate that Black Rot has not gotten into the bunk house, as very likely, it would be uncontainable. Fortunately, everyone here is in good health, and perhaps surprisingly, they have been more than willing to strictly obey the quarantine. No one has left the building since the quarantine has been put into place, and Petronela and her husband have worked closely with the tenants and with the workers at the Laptarie Askandriu and the Lanci Bakery to ensure food is delivered daily.
