Stoia Orchards

The halfling Stoia family maintains orchards and berry farms where they grow pomegranate, figs and quince, along with strawberries and currants. The smell of fresh pie perpetually emanates from their property. In addition to fresh fruit and pie, the Stoias also produce a fair quantity of spirits from their fruits, including wines and liquors. While they do not sell these libations at scale as a business, their good friends in the Baciu family purchase a lot of their product and sell it in the Inn. Particularly popular is Radulesc Pomegranate Wine.

The Stoia family is extremely jovial and helpful. They are friends with everyone in town, and are particularly close with the Vestiucs next door, and the Bacius at the Inn and several of the children and grand children between these two families have married and started families of their own.

If the characters are anywhere on the Stoia lands after sunset on 22, 23 or 24 Trowel, they will spot a ghost wandering the grounds. The ghost appears as an elderly canis man, dressed in nobel attire from an earlier time. He is carrying a small basket, and as he wanders among some pomegranate trees, he stops from time to time to select a ghostly pomegranate and put it in his basket. This will trigger the encounter with the ghost.

If the party does not visit the Stoia household after sunset on or before 24 Trowel, Petroche Stoia will be killed by the ghost on 24 Trowel, creating a new incident to be followed up on.

A careful observer approaching the orchards may also notice an old moss-covered standing stone demarcating the entrance to the Stoia property - it has the name Radulesc carved into it. Curiously, the overgrown moss seems to have recently been torn away by the claws of some wild animal.
