Mounts

In pre-industrial societies, animals are the primary form of transportation. Whether being used as individual mounts, teamed to pull carts or carriages, or even in some cases being used to drive machinery - such as the water wheels of large paddleboats on rivers, animals mounts are central to transportation. Some animals, like the horse, servea as ubiquitous, general purpose mounts - able to serve in most regions and climates. Other animal mounts may be highly specialized, serving only in a narrow environmental or climatic band.
