Description:

Plains dragons are among the weaker and more docile of dragons, and they prefer to spend their lives riding rising air currents, soaring high above the complexities of life on the ground. They have been known to spend days - some say months - aloft, often flying so high they are mistaken for soaring birds even though they are hundreds of times larger. Plains dragons have long, lean features and long, rippled scales reminiscent of feathers whose hairs are fused together. Their bellies are usually a very pale, cool grey, and their backs are beige or golden, making them harder to see from below as they soar in the sky, or from above as they snake through a grassland.

Of course, like any creature, plains dragons need to eat - and they will pluck cattle, horses or even people from the ground without hesitation - often diving in from directly overhead, silently and at incredible speed. A surprise attack from a plains dragon is usually instantly fatal to almost anything.

Special:

Plains dragons do not have an ability to attack with their breath like other dragons - some say that 'their breath is the wind' - and that the real threat posed by a plains dragon is its extreme speed and ability to close distance to its prey in the blink of an eye and carry it away before anyone even realizes what has happened.
