Dragon: Jungle
Description:
Jungle dragons are the fastest and most agile of dragonkind. Their smooth, bright green bodies have the rubbery texture of a frog with the long, lean body of an iguana or other fast moving reptile. Their wings have the appearance of very long and knobby frog fingers protruding from their shoulder blades, with the wing surface appearing to be a rubbery, brightly-coloured and translucent webbing. They have been known to make beautiful, terrifying displays with their wings, but when they tuck their wings away, they all but disappear into the rubbery skin of their backs.
In addition to the bright colouration of their wings, jungle dragons sport an incredible range of exotic and vibrantly colored markings and patterns - often exhibited on seemingly vestigial or otherwise unique structures or fleshy protrusions. A jungle dragon snaking through its environment is one of the most beautiful things in all of nature; but those who witness it rarely live to talk about it.
Jungle dragons are intelligent and dangerous, and will fight according their strengths - using their speed, and their special abilities to supplement their attacks. They are only encountered in the most inhospitable regions - hot, humid, disease infested jungles where even the most adventurous humanoid explorers are functioning at or beyond their limits.
Special:
Jungle dragons have a long, frog-like tongue that they can project to a range of 6 hexes using their Constrict attack. As with all Constrict attacks, the first attack must be an attempt to Entangle, but if this attack succeeds any victim weighing less than 200kg will be pulled instantly into the jungle dragon's mouth. Thereafter, each turn the victim does not escape, the jungle dragon can roll a 21 Challenge against a helpless target to apply Strong bite damage.
Jungle dragons breathe a jet of toxic, hallucinogenic gas that floods a radius of 6 hexes, centered on their hex when they deploy it. This cloud is invisible and hovers in the air for 3d4 turns. The cloud cannot be dodged or defended against, and anyone who breathes inside it for the duration will be effected.
