Description:

Desert dragons have long, serpentine bodies, with heavy, dusty, tattered scales; usually coloured mottled grey and brown, and exhibiting diamond, checkered or reticulated patterns. Their limbs are short and unwieldy, like those of long, lean desert reptiles that flit over the sand, and they cannot attack meaningfully with their claws. They have wings, and can fly, but rarely do, as they are extremely susceptible to heat loss; flying through the air cools their bodies rapidly and weakens them. As such, they prefer to rest and sun themselves on rocks, unfolding their dark brown, bat-like wings to warm themselves as much as possible. The venom of a desert dragon is extremely potent, and is both feared and treasured.

Special:

A desert dragon automatically injects its venom whenever it lands a bite attack, but it can also expend a point of Resolve to spray its venom, to a range of 12 hexes. The venom can be dodged or blocked with a shield.

The toxicity of the venom is significantly higher if delivered directly into the blood stream via a bite, but can still be extremely dangerous when splattered across the skin.

While immune to poison, desert dragon are among the weakest of dragon-kind; they are seemingly unintelligent and do not cast spells.
