Description:

A requiant is an undead priest or priestess who chose to die alongside their master or mistress in order to oversee their journey to the afterlife. In the case of powerful undead such as liches or mummies, these religious servants may have participated in the rituals that created their mistress or master as an eternal undead entity. To say they are loyal unto death is self-evident; indeed their entire continued existence beyond the threshold of life itself owes to their loyalty and commitment to whatever dark force they and their mistress or master committed themselves.

Special:

Requiants are immune to normal weapons, poison, and disease though Blessed weapons do +25% damage to them. Their own weapons and armour are considered magical. In life, requiants were priests or priestesses, so loyal to their masters that they chose to die alongside them - and they remain this loyal in undeath. Requiants are cunning and cautious, and will use their skills and abilities to fight from range or from the shadows - often supporting other undead in the protection of their tomb or barrow.

Variants:

In life, requiants served as members of a religious order, devoting their lives to their deity and to serving the religious needs of their mistress or master. In undeath, requiants continue this service, with their power being determined by the rank they held in life.

Standard Requiant

The standard requiant was a senior religious figure in life, usually the religious advisor to a laird or other noble of similar rank.

Requiant Acolyte

Requiant acolytes represent the lowest rank of religious servant, having likely served in life as an assistant to a higher ranking, more powerful religious figure.

High Requiant

High requiants lived as very high ranking religious figures, typically provided religious service and counsul to the very highest secular authorities; queens, emperors or other similar rulers.

Grand Requiant

Grand requiants would have held the highest achievable religious rank in life, serving as leader for their entire religious order and holding powers on par with any secular king or empress, answerable only to their deity.
