Vurmigant
Description:
A Vurmigant is a bizarre and tragic creature, seemingly formed when a certain species of maggot infests the corpse of a person, and somehow through the process of devouring their remains gains some aspect of the knowledge and personality of the individual. Vurmigants thus present themselves as shambling, bipedal swarms of maggots, attempting somehow to carry on the existence of whoever's corpse they ate. Note that a Vurmigant is not capable of passing itself off as the individual it seems to long to be - while they will often attempt to ‘wear’ their clothes, they cannot speak, use equipment, cast spells, or any of the things the individual they devoured could do in life. Vurmigants instead try to adopt the routine of the individual in question. Going to their place of work or their home, or crawling into their bed at night.
Of course, to most, Vurmigants are considered to be abominations and they are aggressively purged when discovered, though there remain some instances of individuals keeping a Vurmigant as some kind of memento of a lost loved one. While Vurmigants can in no sense be mistaken for a real person, the coarse patterns of their behaviors and movements can nonetheless be comforting to those who had strong attachments to them. Some individuals claim they have been able to maintain a real bond with whatever remains of a loved one inside a Vurmigant, and that they can communicate with them in subtle ways. The ways that Vurmigants ‘immortalize’ the behaviours of the dead is of great fascination to necromancers, and some believe that Vurmigants could be used to resurrect people who may have been dead for centuries.
Most Vurmigants are passive and will not attack unless threatened - of course, those formed from particularly aggressive individuals may be more likely to attack.
Special:
Vurmigants take double damage from fire and flame based attacks, and any attacks, skills or spells that damage their Composure do double damage as well - making them quite vulnerable to being pushed into many States that will affect their behaviour.
