Description:
Pegasi are legendary winged horses, and are extraordinarily rare. They are anomalous among chimeric creatures, in that they tend to be calm and graceful instead of fierce or even tormented or deranged. Some have argued that pegasi may not even be chimeric creatures and are instead their own unique species.
While pegasi are not aggressive, they will endeavor to avoid humanoids at all costs as they are hunted to be broken in as steeds - their ability to fly at tremendous speed, wearing armour while also bearing a rider, make them among the most powerful creatures that can be flown into mounted combat That said, pegasi are noble and intelligent, and typically only willingly serve as mounts to those of profound purity - such as Ascended heroes, or Celestial Knights. A pegasus mount can carry 125 Bulk.
Variants:
Standard Pegasus
Pegasi are extremely rare, and very few have ever seen one. Capturing and taming a pegasus to serve as a mount is virtualy impossible.
War Pegasus
No mortal has ever been known to ride a pegasus into battle. To capture and train an ordinary pegasus to serve as a mount is practically impossible, but no animal handler who has ever lived has experience to training such a creature to fly willingly into battle carrying a rider - such work is best left to the gods.
