Amphitere

Description:

An Amphitere is a chimeric creature with the body of a giant snake, and the huge feathered wings of a giant hawk. They are sometimes mistaken for dragons by humanoids, but they are not. They have no arms or legs, and no torso or distinct tail - their bodies being entirely serpentine in form. They are not intelligent and cannot speak, or cast any magical spells, making them much more similar to other giant animals. Their plumage is often very brightly colored - flashing bright reds, oranges and yellow, or less frequently, exotic metallic blues, greens and purples.

Special:

An Amphitere is immune to all forms of venom. They will use their wings and their great speed to move in quickly and strike their victims, keeping their distance while their own venom does its work. When a victim is weakened, they may attempt to Entangle and Constrict them, potential carrying them away where others cannot easily assist them. As with all Constrict attacks, the first attack must be an attempt to Entangle using the Effect Attack, after which, each turn that the victim does not escape, the Amphitere can roll a 21 Challenge against a helpless target to apply either Fast or Strong Constrict damage.
