Spirit: Fire

Description:

Fire spirits are often mistaken for Infernals, as they appear as flaming creatures, formed from living fire; much as many humanoids imagine a demon would look. Like many Infernals, Fire spirits are obsessed with destruction, and seek to destroy order - mostly by setting everything around them on fire. They are not, however, particularly evil - they take no joy in making others suffer. They simply want to see the world burn for the sake of it.

Special:

Fire spirits are immune to all normal weapons, poison and disease, as well as to shock and fire, but they take double damage from frost attacks, and immersing or dousing them in water is equivalent to casting Freeze on them, doing double damage as well.

Variants

Fire Spirit variants include Standard Fire Spirits, sometimes called Caldoma, and Lesser Fire Spirits, sometimes called Igni.

Caldoma

Caldoma radiate tremendous heat, and flammable materials within 2 hexes of them will immolate. Anyone directly adjacent to a Caldoma, takes d3 damage every turn from the extreme heat - armour does not Protect. When in physical contact with fire, they regenerate their Health at 1 per turn.

The energy released by a Caldoma can cause Igni to be spontaneously created. Anything that immolates due to proximity to a Caldoma has a 1 in 6 chance of creating an Igni. Only one Igni can be created in a turn, and a maximum of 8 Igni can be created in this way in one day.

If a Caldoma is destroyed too quickly - with the blow that takes it to 0 Health doing more than 1/3 of its total Health in damage, the sudden release of energy will spawn d3 Igni.

Caldoma are powerful spell casters. All of their Destruction Spells are themed around fire.

Igni

Igni are the living, dancing spirits of fire and flame. They are called ‘fire keepers’ or ‘fire bearers’, and they much more capricious and mischievous than similar small spirits such as Petri or Geli. Their existence is fleeting; they seem to be able to be created by fire itself, and most house fires are attributed to the spontaneous emergence of an Igni, scampering forth from a hearth and setting a room ablaze. When present, and Igni is almost always more interested in starting fires than in engaging with attackers directly.

When in physical contact with fire, they regenerate their Health at 1 per turn, but unlike Caldoma, if they are removed from contact with fire, they will lose Health at 1per turn until they eventually burn themselves out and dissipate.
