Vvycce

Description:

Vvycces are cruel faeries that tend to live in thick woods or dank swamps, usually near the outer reaches of human settlements, from whence they seek to lure small children - their preferred prey. Some particularly bold vvycces may even attempt to snatch children from their beds in the night, or use their magical abilities to disguise themselves and lure children away in broad daylight.

Vvycces love to use their magic for treachery and deception, and a community that is preyed upon by a vvycce will often believe that the misfortune that befalls them is caused by someone in their midst. Repeated disappearance caused by a vvycce will often cause a community to turn against itself and begin infighting - a spectacle of suspicion and cruelty that brings great delight to the vvycce.

In the most extreme cases, some vvycces have been known to attract villagers to worship them as nature spirits - forming cults that seek to do the bidding of the vvycce - kidnapping victims and bringing them to vvycce to appease it.

Vvycces are immune to poison and disease. They are powerful manipulators, who use treachery, stealth, deception and magic to break apart entire communities, 'separating the herd' so they can more easily feast on the weakest members.
