Description:

Averaging 3 to 4 meters in height, trolls have a thick hide and the ability to regenerate, making them particularly dangerous and difficult to bring down in combat. Trolls tend to be solitary, or to live in mating pairs, and choose to hunt or prey on travelers passing through remote wilderness areas, or venturing into their dens or caves. Trolls tend to shy away from villages but, like ogres, they are sometimes captured and enslaved by other humanoids and forced to fight for them.

Special:

Trolls have a thick, rubbery hide that makes the immune to shock attacks. They regenerate Health at a rate of 1/turn until they are killed at double the negative value of their stability.

Variants:

Troll are not as sophisticated as other humanoids in terms of their organization, and will rarely be found in groups larger than a single mating pair, which is itself rare. Trolls will aggressively defend their dens or caves, and will greedily devour anything or anyone that comes near them.

Standard Troll

Standard trolls tend to wander the open wilds far from civilized areas, either through the woods or tundra, or high in remote mountainous regions.

Bridge Troll

Bridge trolls have an odd fondness for making their dens under bridges, as they seem to have discovered that travellers are an easy food source. Bridge trolls are the most frequently encountered of all types of troll, and once one moves in under a bridge, the local guard or militia will immediately be sent to deal withe the situation.

Cave Troll

Cave trolls tend to make dens in natural caves, far from settlements, though occasionally they will find their way into mines - either abandoned or operational. A cave troll loose in a mine is every miner's worst nightmare.

War Troll

War trolls are trolls that have been captured - usually by bugaboos, hobgoblins or tuckers, and 'broken' to the will of the tribe. These are heavily armed and armoured rage fighters who are unleashed ot wreak havoc. Their only goal is to destroy and devour as many enemies as they can in the hope of avoiding the cruel punishment of their masters.
