Description:

Among the more fearsome of giant-kind, fire giants are aggressive and rage fueled. They tend to be solitary, only coming together to raise young. They are otherwise very territorial, attacking anyone or anything they encounter on sight - often including other fire giants. The larger social order that exists among fire giants is very loose - the most powerful fire lairds demand fealty from other fire giants over a wide area - this is usually paid in refined metal and gems which fire giants extract as ore from their tunnels and refine in their magma fueled forges.

Special:

Fire giants are immune to fire, magical or otherwise, and will not suffer adverse effects from extreme heat. They are doubly susceptible to cold and frost, and will suffer twice the loss of Stamina in very cold environments, and take double damage from Frost attacks.

Variants:

Whether it is their natural coloration, or whether they are simply covered in soot and volcanic dust, all fire giants have dark black skin. Their wiry hair and beards are perpetually ablaze, but never burn away. Their eyes glow like embers, and sparks fly from them whenever they move.

Adult

Adult fire giants tower up to 6 meters in height. They tend to be solitary; exploring underground caves for rich veins of ore, or working in their forges. They are competent spell casters, though they prefer to fight with their weapons and will tend to reserve their ranged attack spells to prevent their foes from escaping.

Juvenile

Juvenile fire giants are not yet full grown, and tend to be about 4 to 5 meters in height. These are by far the most common fire giants to be encountered - likely because they are being forced out of the territory of adult fire giants, and looking for a new place to live. Very rarely, juvenile fire giants have engaged with organized humanoid societies for a limited time - usually offering to trade large hordes of refined metals in exchange for information about regional geology.

Laird

The fire giant lairds and the most ancient and powerful of their kind. Some believe they rule from enormous fortresses of steel and obsidian in the center of the world, where their drink molten lava as though it is water. While this is likely a myth, it does speak to the terrifying might of these fearsome giants.
